Marinating:

1

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Wash the apples and core them by removing the stalk, without piercing the bottom, to create a cavity that will hold the sweet filling.

2

Mix the soft butter with the Sirop de Liège, the chopped walnuts and the cinnamon. Generously fill the centre of each apple with this fragrant mixture.

3

Place the apples in a dish with a little water at the bottom. Bake for 40 min, until they are soft and the top is nicely caramelised.

4

Baste the apples with their cooking juices as they come out of the oven. Serve them warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a spoonful of quark.
